Successful Start to Jeff Lautenslager’s Final Collegiate Season

Jeff Lautenslager began is final season at Boise State University with a runner-up finish in his heat at the Stanford Invitational in California on Sunday.
Lautenslager, the National Academy of Distance Running athlete, ran strongly and carved through the pack of 12 runners, putting himself in position around the final turn, and passing the leader Cole Johnson of Michigan in the home-straight. He gained on leader Hugh Nicklason of the University of San Francisco and Australia, coming up a metre short in 3min48.91sec.
Lautenslager will next run the 5,000m and 1,500m at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa California on April 18 and 19.
